Thought for the Day:

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul.
And sings the tune
Without the words,
and never stops at all.

crash

I'm crashed.
Hopefully not for long.
I can't afford to crash for another 4 or 5 weeks.
Why won't this illness adapt itself to fit better into my schedule?

I know I've been busy and pushing my limits...
Doing more than usual almost every day.
But I was managing fine, I didn't see the signs.
Silly me.
I thought I was "getting better".
Well my friend M.E. showed me.

Now I'm in bed.
throat
throat blisters
lymph nodes
major weakness
breathlessness
chest ache
fatigue
ache

Rest...Rest...Rest....Rest....

I hope this is a short crash.
I have things to do.
Things that can't be done in bed with my eyes closed.

  1. Oh no, poor you! You did wonder if you could keep it up. I suppose this is your answer. It's not your fault though. Let yourself off the hook, rest and recover. Hope you feel better soon xx

  2. Thanks Jo,
It's so disheartening as I was doing so well overall. I wasn't functioning like a normal, but like 1/2 my normal which was just so nice.

  3. ((UpNorth)) There's nothing you can do but go with the flow! Spoil yourself as much as possible during this crash! Watch great movies on your TV even if you have to spend money to do so. I'm having my third nasty cold in a month, and I don't know if it is from pushing myself too hard or not. I really miss my normal activities, but when I think of it as giving myself permission to be lazy (and getting out of chores!), I enjoy it to some degree. Not that it is laziness, but sometimes it helps to let myself feel that way. If that makes sense!

  5. I am sorry to hear you have crashed....CFS is unforgiving and seems to like to blindside us! Hope it ends up to be a short rest time.

  6. What are tubbies Jenji? Do you mean baths?
I'm kindof taking care of myself. Had to teach thurs. for two hours, did OK. Today (Friday) some kindof stomach flu hit. How are you doing these days?

Thanks for the sympathies and support Renne and Judy

  7. I'm sorry you are in a crash! Hate that when it happens! I loved the poem though. You captured our struggles beautifully!

I hope this is a quick one and you are up and about soon!

  8. Tubbie time. Yes, that would be a bath. It's my second favorite place in my home.

I'm doing all right. Good days, bad days. You how it goes.

Funny thing about teaching....When I was teaching it was right through my exhaustion, however, I found those two 1/2 hours invariably flew by because I enjoy teaching so much. Not teaching this year though. Still recovering from the stunt I pulled last fall semester.

I hope you start to take a turn for the better this weekend.
