I'm blogging using dial-up!!! (There is no high-speed out here). What a blast from the past. It means my blogs this month will be short.
As for my health - it's actually shocking....but I haven't crashed yet. I've had a bit of a sore throat and some pain in my arm lymph nodes, but after teaching a full afternoon last Monday (which included quite a bit of walking), then spending two to three days packing and moving with little rest, I expected a crash.
Perhaps it's because Sue and Joe packed up most my stuff and did all the carrying and lifting as well as driving everything to storage. However, I loaded quite a few boxes and bags the last days....I mean I was WAY more active than usual doing stuff that would typically cause a crash.
I'm so so happy I haven't crashed, but at the same time it's confusing. Sometimes I do something like grocery shop, or walk an extra block and I crash. Then I have the busiest few days since July (after 2 weeks of being pretty ill) and I DON'T crash??!!?!
This illness is just too hard to understand or make sense of sometimes.
I'm just going to enjoy the good days while they're here.
Dial-up? Wow, I haven't heard that term in a while...
ReplyDeleteTake extra care of yourself! Even though you haven't crashed, your body may still have a delayed reaction to the move.
I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but what is a "winterized cabin"? I can guess...but being from a state that doesn't really snow nearly as much as Canada, I really don't know what that means. :)
Waw I have just popped by from Alyson's blog and have just read your story.
ReplyDeleteYou really must find out more about Lyme Disease. i know you were diagnosed with Mono but that can re activate when we are chronically ill with lyme.
Please visit my blog and read my story bottom right and then look at the many links top right especially Can Lyme charity where I am in touch with others from Canada.
I am sure you will find it strange for me to say look at lyme don't listen to what doctors have told you but if you read what has been going on with IDSA review on lyme disease guidelines you will start to understand. There is no reliable blood test that proves you have not got lyme and there are thousands of people the world over who have been diagnosed with ME/CFS and then found it to be lyme.
We have Lyme everywhere in UK so doing your Outward bound courses you would have been at risk although here our NHS follows IDSA discredited guidelines.
Good luck and keep in touch.
Alyson,
ReplyDeleteA winterized cabin is one that is insulated and has heat....Important this time of year in Ontario, Canada as we've already had below freezing temps.
Thanks for the info Joanne,
I've been tested multiple time for Lymes as many of my Dr.'s initially suspected it. I did have one positive lyme screen, but all my other tests have been negative. Also, all the intial testing when I first got sick showed a fairly severe Mono infection.....so I suspect at least initially, this was my problem. I'm still pretty sure, though, that i have some kindof infection.
