I've been feeling significantly gross, weak and sick every day for weeks now. I don't feel too bad when I get up in the morning. I wake up hopeful and probably a little too ambitious. Between 11am-1pm the funk sets in and I feel just wasted and ill. every. single. day. It's frustrating.
After ten years I realize it is just M.E. But still, I wish I could put my finger on why this is always such a bad time of year for me health-wise. My worst crashes/relapses have always fallen in the Feb-April months. Even while taking it pretty easy this week (avoiding outings of any kind) I have not been able to pull out of this bad period yet.
To be honest, I could probably limit my activity further - for example, cut out the 90 min of PhD work in the morning or refrain from doing any art.
The thing is, despite feeling so ill, my mood hasn't yet taken a huge dive. I know if I cut out those activities, it will be hard not to get sucked into depression.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
The National ME/FM network is in fourth place in the Nature's Bounty contest. The top three charities win money....it wouldn't take much to bring them into third. Please vote if you are able (it's really easy) and you can vote from any country, one vote a day. Please share this link.

Hi Upnorth, Maybe you are just tired of the cold, tho I know from the photos that you love the outdoors. It's so hard to pull back, always the fear that we will never regain where we were, but I'v learned that if I make a conscious decision to cut back on an activity for a short time I can return to the previous 'normal.' I'm just babbling on, I really have no solution !! Just remember that you are not alone, we're all here, somehow accomplishing little things everyday. And cold weather doesn't help, it's time for spring weather. Leah
ReplyDeleteLeah, I am trying to cut back...it's just hard. Thanks for the 'company' it means the world to know I am not alone.
DeleteI think for some it is common to have seasons of feeling better or worse. I always felt better in the fall.....worse Jan-may.......who knows the whys....Glad that picture of Levi made you laugh!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same Renee! My best times always seem to fall in the autumn.
DeleteHiya, friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone. I know it's frustrating for you. Type A does not rest easily, nor should one have to.
Did you get a chance to read the article I sent you?
jenji
Thanks for the article Jenji, it's one I hadn't read and made a lot of sense. Not sure what I could do with the info. The specialist I had did some of the alternative Lyme testing on me and it came back neg. or borderline.
Deletesigh, the type A just doesn't go away does it?
upnorth, sorry to hear that you feel so sick.
ReplyDeletethanks for comments on my blog. masonite works fine. it's certainly not the best one, but much better than other wood, such as plywood. price is super cheap. i never worked on lino so i cannot compare.
i hope you feel better soon. rest more!
