Thought for the Day:

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul.
And sings the tune
Without the words,
and never stops at all.

blood pooling (read and look at your own risk)!!

Guess which foot (or feet) belong to the roommate with OI ? And this is only a moderate day....you should see them when they're purple.
I hope this doesn't gross anyone out too much (sorry).

I'm going to attach a lovely local scene of my favourite swimming spot so you can get that one out of your head.

Feeling terrible and very fluey today...hurts with every breath. Hopefully tomorrow's better, right?

  1. Oh my goodness! Now the mother in me wants to ask if your doctor has seen this???? Hang in there Gail. It IS going to get better...you WILL improve. Keeping you in prayer.

  2. Yuppers, that's it!

Increase your salt intake and drink lots of Gatorade if you can. And keep fidgeting with your legs, moving so that it doesn't stick in one spot. The stockings will help that. If it helps at all, please know that mine used to be that bad and gradually became much, much better.

In the meantime, don't stand on your head. No really, don't. :)

  3. Ah, yes....looks very familiar. I didn't think my son or I had OI because we'd never fainted or felt dizzy, but when Dr. Bell tested my son in the office, this is exactly what his feet looked like - they turned all purple and blotchy, and my son had to take off his shirt because he was sweating so much - in December in western NY with a foot of snow on the ground!

I'm with Jenji - tons of salt and fluids. But there are also lots of different meds that can help - talk to your doctor. I can do so much more now that I take beta blockers (that's just one option).

Oh, and your second picture is gorgeous!! Looks so peaceful and beautiful.
